Talking about a love at first sight 🍒 Josef an Talking about a love at first sight 🍒

Josef and Anni Albers, the iconic Bauhaus duo, are finally on show in an Belgian exhibition paying tribute to this couple who never shied away from a challenge.

⏩️ Josef met Anni Albers on the benches of the avant-garde school in the 1920s and their marriage led to one of the most important legacies in modernism: from square paintings and furniture to the design of textiles, once considered handicrafts. The design manufacturer Knoll trusted Anni later to develop a textile collection.

Influenced not only by the German school, but also by pre-Columbian art and American pre-minimalism, it’s a concentrate of this history that takes place at the Boghossian Foundation in Brussels, interacting more than 100 artworks with this landmark.

The icing on the cake is a special boutique featuring reprints and reissues, and a showcase of contemporary creatives inspired by this eternal couple.

Don’t miss out until September 8th.

Whether you like design or not, there’s always r Whether you like design or not, there’s always room for a Rietveld in your home 🏡

Utrecht’s patron saint of the Dutch De Stijl movement designed what was his last chair at the age of 75.
And with this creation the architect and cabinetmaker once more proved his status as a design innovator. Who can argue with that?

Named after the Hague jeweller and court supplier Steltman, who commissioned Rietveld in 1963 to renovate his shop, this chair is actually twofold.
From one angle, it looks like two chairs seen in profile. On the other hand, it is unitary. A nod to human alliance.

Originally in imitation leather, it is now also available in real leather and in felt, in a variety of colours.

For our immersive display at Mayfair.BXL, we opted for the luminous lilac version. Our ode to springtime 💜

Another icon from Italian firm Poltronova in our M Another icon from Italian firm Poltronova in our Mayfair.BXL set is the ‘Superonda’ modular sofa 〰️

An anti-sofa, playful by nature, imagined in 1967 by the group of radical builders and designers Archizoom. In this case the couple formed by Dario Bartolini and his wife Lucia. And in a version adorned with polka dots by architect Paolo Deganello ⚪⚫

Made in two parts, which can be used in any position, for small or large derrieres, its versatility is matched only by its PVC finish.

Yes, it is not the most environmentally-friendly material there is, but this is a piece that you’ll be passing down from generation to generation!

The Milan Triennale design museum made no mistake: it is part of their incredible collection 🏢
